STORY: The medical condition of seven-times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher was slightly better on Tuesday (December 31) following a second operation during the night to treat head injuries sustained in a skiing accident, doctors said.
Grenoble's Hospital Director, Jacqueline Hubert, said tests revealed the racing star's state of health is slightly better.
"The operation took place overnight. A new scan was carried out this morning and the radiological signs are of a slight improvement," Hubert told a news conference at the CHU hospital in the eastern French city of Grenoble where Schumacher is being treated.
The retired motor racing great, 44, slammed his head on a rock while skiing off-piste on Sunday (December 29) morning in the French Alpine resort where he has a vacation home.
