Relief Aid Report for Sawat (IDPs) by Minhaj Welfare Foundation

The first caravan of trucks carrying relief goods of worth Rs. 3 million was dispatched to Mardan by Minhaj Welfare Foundation yesterday. Eatable stuff, blankets, shoes, beds, clothes, medicines and tents are part of these relief goods. Talking to the media at the occasion of departure of trucks, Dr Shahid Mahmood, director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, said that MQI was busy serving humanity day in and day out without any discrimination of religion, colour and race. Be it Tsunami in Indonesia, earthquake in Kashmir, NWFP and Iran, destruction wrought by floods, or rehabilitation of the Malakand affectees, MWF is there to help the suffering humanity in hour of trial and tribulations.

Dr Shahid said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has issued special instructions to provide every possible help and relief to our brethren of Malakand Division displaced by ongoing military action against the militants. Relief goods of Rs. 3 million are being immediately dispatched as a first installment with much more to follow in weeks to come.

He said that relief camps were set up in different parts of Pakistan where hundreds of workers were busy collecting donations and relief goods. The MQI chapters around the world were also working hard to contribute to the maximum in this regard. Director of Welfare Foundation vowed to stand by the nation in every hour of suffering. He said that service of humanity was the topmost motto of the Foundation. Iftikhar Shah Bukhari, Mian Tahir Yaqub, Bilal Mustafavi and Shameem Numberdar were also present at the occasion.
