The Jesse Stafford Orchestra was active from 1928 - 1937 as a continuation of the Herb Wiedoeft band (Herb Wiedoeft's Cinderella Roof Orchestra), after Wiedoeft was killed in an automobile accident. In Herb Wiedoeefts orchestra Jesse Stafford was a trombone player. Herb Wiedoeft came from a musical family - brothers Gerhardt and Adolph were sidemen in his band and brother Rudy was the most famous saxophone player of the late ragtime and early jazz era. Wiedoeft's band had a long engagement at the "Cinderella Roof Ballroo in Los Angeles from which the name of the band's theme song "Cinderella Blues" was derived. A recording contract with Brunswick records and tours to Chicago and New York had made the band nationally known by the time Wiedoeft was killed. This sparkling record was made in 1929. Vocal by Craig Leitch.
