Earlier we reported that filmmaker Ekta Kapoor had officially bought the rights to make a bio-pic on the controversial life of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Now if reports are to be believed than the versatile actor Emraan Hashmi will be seen playing the protagonist in the movie.
A source close to the actor reveals that Azhar, who has given his consent to make a film on him and will tell his side of story on the silver screen, is quite happy that Emraan will be seen playing the role of his real-life.
Buzz is that director Kunal Deshmukh, who had earlier directed Emraan in Jannat and which too had revolved around cricket and betting, is being considered to direct this promising venture produced by Ekta Kapoor. Reportedly, the film is expected to go on floors by April-May 2014.
Mohammad Azharuddin turned 50 recently in February 2013, and seems like there's no better way to rejoice a half century with a celluloid bio-pic.
