Paul Anthony Ciancia pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges of murder and attempted murder.

The 23-year-old is accused of going on a shooting spree with an assault rifle at Los Angeles International Airport November 1st, killing a federal security agent and wounding three other people.

Ciancia pled not guilty to all 11 counts in the federal indictment against him.

He was arraigned at this detention center east of Los Angeles. That's where he's being treated for injuries he sustained during a gunfight with police during the shooting.

Three of the charges he faces carry a maximum life sentence or the death penalty.

Federal prosecutors haven't decided whether to seek capital punishment if Ciancia is convicted.
