The Z1000 will be powered by the same 1,043cc DOHC, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 142PS of power at 10,000rpm and 111Nm of torque at 7,300rpm. Both the models host the same twin spar cast alloy frame that is also seen on the ZX-10R, with an upside-down telescopic suspension up front and a horizontal layout mono-shock at the back. The Z1000 hosts 310mm dual petal disc up front and a single petal disc at the back. The Ninja 1000 sports a similar combination but with a slightly smaller 300mm disc up ahead.
