Airline operations are incredibly complex and passengers rarely get to see what's happening behind the scenes.

Air Tahiti Nui recently created an amazing video which showcases plane operations from the most unexpected places to celebrate the airline’s 15th anniversary.

The project took about a month to complete. A 32-year-old engineer at the airline, Matthieu Courtois along with a pilot collaborated to capture the shots and subsequently edit the scenes. A Go Pro camera was used to follow A340 planes, on flights from Auckland to Paris and Los Angeles.

The footage nabs side views of the plane maneuvering along with runway alone with workers both inside and out of the aircraft. Viewers are taken into the cockpit, turbines and even underneath the aircraft.

After highlighting the mechanical and technical aspects, the video quickly shifts to showing absolutely stunning views of major cities from the plane along with the gorgeous hues while the aircraft is above the clouds.

A spokesperson for the airline stated “Our passengers don’t get to see all the hard work that goes into making the plane fly and the fascinating nitty gritty of operating an airline, so this video is a real insight into our people and our airline – it filled us all with great pride.”
