U.S. stocks gained on Monday, as investors weighed better-than-expected consumer sentiment and personal income data.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) shares jumped 3.07 percent to $565.85 in morning trading after the tech giant confirmed that China Mobile Ltd. (NYSE: CHL) will begin carrying the iPhone in January. Shares of China Mobile rose 2.27 percent to $52.80.
The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 74.47 points, or 0.46 percent, at 16,295.61. The S&P 500 Index rose 9.44 points, or 0.52 percent, at 1,827.77. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 33.37 points, or 0.81 percent, at 4,138.04.
