After nearly two years in prison, members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot are finally free.
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was released from her Siberian jail Monday.
(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) FREED PUSSY RIOT MEMBER NADEZHDA TOLOKONNIKOVA, SAYING:
"Nothing has changed in me since I went to prison. I became stronger and more resilient. I hope that now I will be able to change the situation in the country for the better. I will be trying to do that."
Her release came hours after fellow bandmate Maria Alyokhina was also freed.
They had been sentenced to two years for a profanity-laced protest against President Vladimir Putin in a Russian Orthodox church in 2012.
The two were released this week under a new amnesty law.
Tolokonnikova says the new law is just for show to distract the world from Russia's human rights abuses.
