What you see here is a room of BTX Magnum battery motors that have been hard wired with a low voltage transformer. These motors can be powered with batteries or rechargeable batteries and a solar panel.
The power panel consists of a simple 12” x 12” metal power box with 2 10 amp transformers on the inside. There are 2 power distribution panels as well with fuses for ease of programming and electrical safety.
The motors have do have some noise to them, but there is a cost savings for that. You will pay more for a silent motor.
This provided a reasonable cost solution since they wanted individual control of certain windows. Typically on a bank of windows like this we could couple the shades and use less motors. Coupled shades use several bands of fabric being turned by one motor. The advantage is cost savings, but the disadvantage is loss of control of individual bands.
