Police in Queensland were recently sent to a library after witnesses reported seeing the book return chute on fire. Adding to the bizarre circumstances those same onlookers also reported seeing a man, dressed as Batman, quickly fleeing from the scene when flames broke out.
That incident which occurred during the early morning hours of a recent Tuesday was the first of several. Two other fires also broke out. Those started in charity clothing bins.
When those flames were put out, firefighters realized they had an arsonist on their hands. Thankfully the damages weren’t too bad.
Police were eventually able to catch up with the suspect. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after the blazes.
According to reports he was dressed in a black suit, cape and mask, meaning the eyewitnesses were spot on. No charges were immediately filed.
As for the wannabe evil Batman, he was reported to be cooperating with police and responding to questions.
