There’s no better feeling at Christmas time than giving to those who need it the most. That’s exactly how Paul Moore feels.

Moore, also known as Community Claus has a very special role in southwest Philadelphia. Each year, right around Christmas, Moore dresses up as good old Saint Nick. He hosts numerous local events and hands out gifts to underprivileged families.

He also offers comfort and support to adults who are lonely during the holiday season.Moore stated “I believe in my heart that this is what God wants me to do; to bring a little hope to these kids who can’t afford to go pay to see some Santa Claus. It’s all about bringing joy to children and people and to make them happy.”

For nearly two decades, Moore has worked as a sanitation worker for the City of Philadelphia. However prior to that, he had a little wild streak as a professional boxer, hence where the nickname Earthquake comes from.

These days, he is an anti-violence activist, working to bring peace to the communities of his city. Moore is now accepting donations for a unique event this year where he will grant the holiday wishes of five local families.
