It’s hard to know what goes through someone's mind while committing a crime. A man in Phoenix, Arizona allegedly carjacked an elderly couple and ended up taking the vehicle to a casino.
The problem was that he left the male passenger inside the car. 32-year-old Chateen Latfolla reportedly walked up to the pair’s SUV which was stopped in a city suburb.
He forced the 85-year-old driver out the vehicle. Latfolla hopped in the driver’s seat and sped away from the scene. However it seemed Latfolla didn’t realize the woman’s 91-year-old hubby was still sitting in the passenger’s seat.
The suspect continued driving until he arrived at the Wild Horse Pass Casino. Thankfully police were able to catch up with Latfolla and arrested him at the gambling establishment.
The elderly man was located safe and sound in the custody of casino security. Latfolla has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of narcotic drugs. He also had several warrants out prior to the carjacking.
The elderly woman required hospitalization as she was injured when the suspect pulled her from the car, but she is expected to make a full recovery.
