Occasionally, the world catches a glimpse of what true undying, unselfish, and unified love is between a husband and wife. After Bob Carey found out his wife Linda would have to battle breast cancer, he started what became a worldwide project by photographing himself in nothing but a pink tutu while in various locations and elements.

Why just a pink tutu and occasionally some socks? Anything to bring a smile to his wife’s face and ease her burden while she first underwent breast cancer treatment in 2003 and then when it returned and spread to her liver in 2006.

Linda shared the pictures of her better half and ballerina with other cancer patients to give them a laugh as well. Linda said the pictures’ effect was the same as “when a superhero puts on the cape.”

After Bob’s photos went viral, the Careys founded The Tutu Project to help inspire others and raise money for cancer patients. As part of the project, he traveled around the globe to take the unique images that would be included in their Ballerina book.

Of the 5,000 books printed, 3,000 have been sold and proceeds donated to The Carey Foundation, which was formed along with The Tutu Project.
