***What to expect from laser nail treatment***
Laser treatment for fungal nails is fast and effective with a high comfort level. Most people we treat experience a warming sensation during their treatment.
The laser works by disrupting fungal cells in your nail without affecting your skin or nail bed. The damaged fungal nail is replaced as new healthy nail grows out.
Because fungal spores will be present in the skin and nails of both feet, it’s strongly recommended all nails of both feet are treated, even if there is no visible fungal damage.
The medical laser we use has a temperature sensing feedback indicator. That’s an important safety feature, especially if you have diabetes. Here are a few photos of fungal nails before and 3 months after laser treatment. It’s important to be aware that it will take 6-9 months for healthy clear nail to grow out and replace the fungal damaged nail.
