Crafted specifically for the city’s 400th anniversary of Amsterdam's canal district, simplistic, vintage appearing bottles are for sale for a little under 70 dollars.
With so many travel destinations, it's hard to stand apart from the pack.
A unique product is now available for those who are visiting Amsterdam.
Crafted specifically for the city’s 400th anniversary of its canal district, these vintage styled souvenir bottles sell for less than 70 dollars. The contents of the bottles are simply canal waters.
The district was officially listed as a UNESCO Heritage site back in 2010. The canals which were dug in the early 1600s are reflective of the rapid population growth in the city during that time period, otherwise known as the Golden Age.
The water was taken from various famous canals including the Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Singel and Prinsengracht waterways. The offering comes in a set of four bottles, featuring the water from each canal. There is also a story and some background information on the rear side of the containers for each waterway.
A QR-code stamped on the bottles allows tourists to find the exact location where the water was taken from, but be careful not to drink it.
