Tom Wagner from Louisiana was on his way to California when he found himself locked in the dark, empty cabin of a United Express Jet plane.
He had somehow slept through the deplaning process when the flight landed in Houston for a layover.
Even weirder is that nobody noticed.
Upon realizing he was trapped, Wagner made a call to his girlfriend, asking her to do something to get him off the plane.
After he convinced her it wasn’t a joke, she called the airline and a half an hour later, somebody came and let him out.
He said he told them, "'Don't put the blame on me. I didn't do anything wrong here.' And then they were, like, try to hush-hush, keep it quiet."
Wagner was given a toothbrush, some toothpaste, and a motel room.
Rather than putting him on a flight to California or refunding the ticket, United gave him a 250-dollar voucher to help him get to his original destination.
Later, Express Jet issued a statement apologizing for leaving him on the plane.
The airline also said they have no idea how he could have been missed by the crew, but they’re looking into it.
