Those who take part in extreme sports and activities are always risking bodily harm. A base jumper named Thayer Healy recently managed to survive after colliding with a massive rock.
The whole terrifying ordeal was captured on film, as Healy was wearing a head cam at the time of the jump. Not only does the slow motion footage show Healy crashing into the rock but it also depicts him sliding down the face of the cliff uncontrollably.
His hands reached outwards during the fall for anything that would prevent him from hitting the sandstone, which could be seen at times crumbling beneath his touch. The cliff strike occured at the Wall Street climbing area near Moab in Utah.
The video was posted to YouTube. In the caption, it notes that he encountered serious injuries as a result including five stitches to the eye and more to his chin.
He also suffered from a sprained back and wrist along with a fractured vertebra. One thing is sure, Healy is counting his blessings that he managed to live through the horrific ordeal.
