Top 3 Biggest Mistakes Customers Make When Choosing A Window

Mistake #1:
They think, "A window is the window is the window. They're plastic and it's all the same!" You just look at them and wonder, "How much money do these people want to make on me?" So you go in and buy the cheapest crappy windows available anywhere just because it's cheap. But the truth is, you'll end up buying windows made from recycled toilet seats and toothbrushes and it's not going to last you a very long time. It does not matter how much money you spend, what matters is how good the windows are that you get. So mistake #1, all windows are not the same.

Mistake #2:
Nobody looks at the small print in their warranties. You might be very happy to read, in huge 70 point font, "LIFETIME WARRANTY"...well, go down the list,...down,... down, and on the bottom of it, there is a paragraph, "EXCEPT for natural weathering and atmospheric conditions. Which is everything under the sun. So why would you buy something that promises you a warranty when the next sentence in the small print cuts it all out? So basically you are buying the windows without any warranty. If something does happen, you can of course pray to God that nothing happens and that you will be perfectly fine. But if God forbid something happens, you're on the hook. Why? Because the contract says that you purchased windows that are affected by sun, and daylight and fresh air and salty water which are not covered by the warranty.

Mistake #3:
Make sure that you know exactly what you buy. This this is important is because people come to your home and show you a brochure, "Here's our beautiful brochure, wait, this one's even better. This girl has her leg this way, this guy has his arms spread out," It's not important how good the picture is. What's important is:
A) Who makes the windows? Are they really the manufacturer of vinyl windows and doors?
B) From what material? Are they vinyl windows and doors? Is it wood or fiberglass?
C) Who is responsible for installation?
D) Do they break out the stucco when they install it?
E) Do they install your new windows inside your old windows and make it much smaller?
You have to research the most critical elements. It's not all about money. Money is VERY important, but even more important for you is to get something really good for your money.
