Recently video footage was captured of a mysterious being swimming around in Bristol harbour. The large creature could be spotted right underneath the water’s surface.
While it appears to have the body of a squid or jellyfish, the most unique and mind boggling aspect is that it brightly illuminated underneath the water, giving it that extraterrestrial, somewhat creepy quality.
The clip was uploaded to YouTube and almost immediately suspicions arose about it being some sort of underwater alien. Marine biologists threw out their own opinions, believing it to be a marine salp that drifted to shallow waters or a bioluminescent jellyfish.
Well in the end, all the rumors were put to rest and most all of the speculators were wrong. The bizarre creature was in fact not a living being at all. Instead it was a device serving as a publicity stunt by a local TV team to promote a new magic show called The Happenings.
