UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon pays his respects to Nelson Mandela, during a visit to Johannesburg's Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory.
"We join together in sorrow for a mighty loss, in celebration of a mighty life," Ban Ki-moon said.
Ban Ki-moon reflected on his meeting with Mandela in 2009, when the anti-apartheid hero acknowledged there were "hundreds and hundreds of known and unknown" people walking for the same cause Mandela was trying to achieve.
"He's a man of humility, modesty and human decency," Ban Ki-moon said.
