When it comes to beloved possessions, sentimental value often trumps the monetary worth. A man in Mount Airy, Maryland is heartbroken after his John Deere was stolen.

75-year-old Bob Fowler was a young adult, only 18 years of age, when he bought the tractor. It was one of his first big purchases during his lifetime.

He never sold the piece of heavy machinery, instead it had stayed with him, on his property up until last month when someone swiped it right out of Fowler’s front yard.

The elderly man had always taken meticulous care of the tractor , which may have been the reason the thief was so attracted to it. (1,4,1) Fowler is now pleading with the unknown suspect to return it.

He has spoken to a news reporter and also placed an ad in the paper for the old John Deere on top of filing a report with the police. (1,5,1) Fowler has even enlisted the help of a private investigator to find it, proving how much the tractor means to him. (1,6,1)

At the end of the day, Fowler just wants the machine back home and pointed out he didn’t care about any punishment for the suspect behind the theft.
