STORY: Ukrainian opposition protesters marched through the centre of the capital Kiev to the presidential administration building on Tuesday just hours after parliament failed to pass a motion to hold a no-confidence vote against the government of President Viktor Yanukovich.

There were none of the violent scenes that were seen at the weekend when police and protesters clashed after a rally attracted some 350,000 anti-government protesters.

The short rally took the demonstrators from central Independence Square to the presidential building. But Yanukovich was not there, having flown earlier to China for pre-planned an official visit.

As darkness came, thousands of protesters remained on the streets of Kiev flying Ukrainian flags for the 13th day since anger erupted over Yanukovich's decision to not sign an integration agreement with the European union.
