Gunfire on the streets of Bangladesh as opposition parties extended their nationwide strike for two more days, seeking postponement of polls even as violence raged on.
At least six people were killed and dozens were wounded in the unrest.
The opposition-led strike -- which was scheduled to end Sunday has virtually paralyzed the country for the second straight week.
Now the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its allies declared the strike will run until Thursday.
The BNP is refusing to nominate candidates for the January parliamentary elections until the dispute over a caretaker government during the polls is settled.
