Losing a cellphone is always devastating. A man in China, who had his iPhone stolen, received a very unusual handwritten note, jam-packed with his lost contacts.

The victim named Zou Bin had gone out with friends to celebrate a wedding on November 14th. After drinking and getting buzzed, he headed home and shared a taxi with several other men.

At one point Zou Bin passed out during the ride. After he got home, he realized the iPhone was gone. Zou Bin believed another male in the taxi swiped it.

Furious and upset that his contacts were not backed up, he began incessantly texting his phone, threatening the thief. He noted “I know you are the man who sat beside me. I can assure you that I will find you. Look through the contact numbers in my mobile and you will know what trade I am in.”

He ordered the crook to return the iPhone to his address. Several days later a package did show up at his door but it wasn’t what he expected.

Instead of holding the phone, it was filled with a note consisting of 11 pages and his phone’s SIM card. The handwritten slips of paper contained about 1,000 of Zou Bin's contact numbers and stored e-mail addresses.
