Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - Marriage, Bankruptcy, Immigration - Canada, BC? - My partners working visa renewal has been denied and he will have to leave Canada at the end of the month. Our only option is to get married soon. As when it comes to determining whether our relationship is legit I am sure we will be able to prove it as we do currently live together and have shared a life for a while.
Now the problem is we have only 2 weeks before he has to leave Canada.
When we get married is he automatically able to apply for permanent residency? He has been in Canada legally for few years now and has a legit job (even though they denied the extension of his workers permit as he didn’t pass lmo due to his current wage), or do I have to sponsor him?
2nd issue is that my credit is very bad, I am $100,000 in debt and am trying to pay it off, but I am also considering a debt proposal or filing for bankruptcy.
If I do end up filing for bankruptcy 6 months or a year from now how will my bankruptcy affect him? And will his income be a part of determining my surplus income? How will our marriage affect my discharge?
How will my horrible credit currently affect us?
Any information would be appreciated, or contact information of a government institution that can help me answer my concerns would be great.
Thank You -
