What we have today is a beautiful 1976 Martin D18 and its awesome…just superficial dings and scratches. Some pitting on the top three frets and slight finger divots on the top two fret areas but its in fantastic shape. Its not very often you can find a un – tampered 1970′s Martin anymore. So many have had neck resets, bridges remounted or pick guards removed and replaced. Not to mention top cracks. This old timer has had none of that. I see a lot of Martins that you have to undo some poor work to get back to square. This one has no issues.
I said it hasn’t had a neck reset nor does it need on. The action is still really good. 3/16′s from the 12th fret to both the low and high E strings. That is about what it is from the factory. Everything is tight and it plays and sounds awesome.
