The Overtones are on the back row for “Saturday Night at the Movies.”

It is the quintets third album and pays homage to the classic sounds of the cinema.

Overtone Mark Franks explains how the collection came about:
“We had a list of songs that we wanted to record, and some of them were from movies and it kind of made sense – well that theme was arising and we kind of ran with it, really.”

The sixteen-track collection contains songs loved and recognised by millions.

Overtone Mike Crawshaw gave an insight into the song selection process: “There’s so many timeless songs from decades past, so it was as difficult as the other albums. But you know what, like Mark said, it kind of happened quite naturally, these songs are iconic and timeless and we kind of sat down and went, ‘actually these are from films and there’s so many.’
Not many got struck off the list, you know.”

The group will hit the road in February next year in Cork, Ireland. The tour ends on 22 March 2014 in London.
