It was a non-refundable ticket, but the event was canceled and the company that was hosting it quietly ceased operations. They claim they've sent out letters to everyone who bought a ticket with information on how to get our money back.
I called Visa to dispute the charges and the first two representatives told me that they won't do anything until the company declares bankruptcy. The third time I called, they agreed to dispute the charges, but said it would take 4-6 weeks. I also had to fax them documentation of online conversations I had with an owner of the company who stated that we would not be getting refunds. I'm also in correspondence with people who also bought tickets that have had their credit card companies dispute it and they had the charges reversed within a week.
Anyone else had a similar experience? I really don't want to have to be that guy on the phone every day just to get my money back, but I really don't want to just throw away $500 because the visa representatives are lazy. -
