Press Tv: A European Union humanitarian aid envoy has expressed concern over the dire conditions and "dramatic deprivation" in western Myanmar camps inhabited by thousands of homeless people, mainly Rohingya Muslims. Following a visit to Myanmar's western state of Rakhine, the head of EU Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO), Claus Sorensen, said on Saturday that he was disturbed by the "dramatic deprivation of the affected communities and disrespect of fundamental rights." The EU official also warned against the threats posed by "extremist elements" to aid workers, who deliver basic necessities to the people residing in the camps in Rakhine.
