Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - Can wages still be garnished if you are paid current on a judgment? - My fiance has a judgment that his ex-girlfriend brought down on him. He was unemployed until just recently and she knew that. She only asked him for a payment whenever she was laid off or wanted to take a vacation. She filed for wage garnishment and to avoid this, my fiance asked if he could pay her current would she drop the movement. She agreed (we have it in an email). After she received the last payment she told him she wasn't going to withdraw and that he deserves to be in the same financial situation that she is in. My fiance is supporting the both of us and his ex has been married for awhile now. He is in a lot of past debt and thinking about bankruptcy. Right now he is looking for some piece of mind and knowing whether or not a judge can still garnish his wages even though he is paid current will help. He is still making weekly payments to her to stay current and even paying more than the judgment agreement. -
