A blood-stained airbag, blown-out car windows and billowing smoke drifting higher and higher above the town of al-Bab in Aleppo.

New video shows the deadly aftermath of what one Syrian monitoring group says were government air strikes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the strikes killed at least 40 people and wounded dozens more.

As local residents crowd around the crater caused by the blast, faces show shock, sadness and anger.

The video also shows a number of victims being carried through the street.

Reuters is unable to independently verify the content of this footage.

The pro-opposition monitoring group says there were at least six strikes in the area.
