I have decided to give up my house via short-sale or just let it foreclose. I'm planning file for bankruptcy because it's the only way I can get a new start. My question is: should I file for bankruptcy now or wait until after the house is foreclosed or short-sale? I'm in Florida; the mortgage has a promissory note so I'm pretty sure the bank will come after me for the difference. I already started getting their legal letters already.
