Just about everybody has at least one quirk, and it appears that Australian Parliament Representative Gary Gray’s is eating his own hair.

The snack break was caught on a video intended to highlight David Feeney’s words to the House of Representatives.

Gray was seated just beside Feeney as he held the floor. While Feeney spoke, Gray began to scratch his head.

Soon after he pulled a hair from his scalp and closely investigated it.

At that point the behavior was a little odd, particularly because he was both in a large crowd of people and on camera, but not completely out there.

The moment he popped the follicle into his mouth and started to chew is when things got weird - and went viral.

Video clips of the incident are splashed across social media, blogs, and official news outlets.
Public reception has been mixed. Some sympathize, suggesting that perhaps there aren’t enough palatable food options nearby.

Others offer up armchair diagnoses, suggesting that Gray suffers from one of the rare disorders that compel people to pull out their hair and sometimes eat it.
