A man named Nikolas McGregor recently landed in court for robbing a co-op store in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, armed with a spear gun. Shoppers who were in the store at the time attempted to flee the scene due to complete and utter terror.

A security guard approached and challenged McGregor, causing the would-be thief to run away from the shop empty handed. However prior to his quick departure, he did demand money from a worker, Patricia Murphy.

The robbery occurred on August 17th of this year. Traumatizing surveillance footage captured McGregor carrying the spear gun.

When the security guard confronted the suspect and threatened to shoot him, he took off. Police found him that same day hiding in a nearby garden drinking beer. Although McGregor claimed he was waiting for his girlfriend, the spear gun was resting right next to him, alerting cops they had the right guy.

The presiding judge stated “This serious offence involved the use of a spear gun - the fact it could not be fired makes no difference.” McGregor was sentenced to over four years behind bars.
