However a franchise in Haverfordwest, United Kingdom has issued an apology after a customer complained about what they thought was filthy music playing in the establishment.
The patron, Steve Davidson had been eating breakfast inside the business with his 20-month-old grandson. A song was played in the restaurant called Only 17 began, which is off an album titled Probably Racist.
The American rapper Rucka Rucka Ali is the artist behind the song. As Davidson ate his meal, he tuned into the music. He was shocked to hear the explicit lyrics about jail violence, rape and sexual acts.
Davidson stated “The bottom line is that it’s bordering on pornography. It certainly shouldn’t be playing in a restaurant where they sell Happy Meals to children.”
McDonald’s authorities looked into the incident and learned it stemmed from a night shift employee connecting his music player to a sound system installed in the business. The worker then forgot to remove the playlist.
A McDonald’s spokesperson apologized to Davidson. The employee was reprimanded for the mishap and reminded of standard company policies.
