Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - My college no longer exists due to bankruptcy. Do I have still have to repay my student loan financed by DLS? - The college that I graduated from in 1992 was dissovlved by court action in 2008. My loan was financed by Direct Student Loans. I remember a few years ago that I attempted to negotiate a lower repayment rate and I was told by DSL that it was up to the school - so I never bothered since they were already in such a mess that it just caused even more confusion. My question now might be silly, but if the school has been dissolved , who am I actually paying and would now be a good time to perhaps attempt a further settlement. I have been paying for 15 years and have repayed the capital 5 times already - and still have $27K to go. Thoughts from anyone in the community who might have had a similar experience.
