I sh*t you not, I, I cannot do mom-and-pop mexican or italian restaurants anymore--I've been adventurous and flexible for so long regarding this. These people want at least $15 per plate for what essentially costs no more than $5 and then THEY CAN'T COOK! Ever. It's some illegal alien in back who barely makes enough to feed himself, let alone cook for himself. I know quality food and I am tired of getting ripped off at these places simply b/c they happen to be in a trendy part of town.
Exception: I was once in Philly and I had the best F'ing Italian food I've ever had--3 courses, local restaurant, but I think the owners were connected, so ...assume the mob is in no way related to either restaurant in this question. -
