The remaining open Blockbuster stores will soon be closed down, meaning everything leftover will be part of a massive liquidation sale.
For the past several years, Blockbuster locations across the county have been gradually shutting down. The remaining stores will soon be closed, meaning everything leftover will be part of a massive liquidation sale.
Gizmodo staff recently went through some of the most bizarre Craigslist items up for grabs from Blockbuster closings. One ad is for a security cage from a shop out of Iowa.
The “as is” condition cage is selling for $250. The same shop is also selling a roughly used hand truck for $35. In Salem, Oregon, 400 wire 4 foot shelves are now for sale for $5 each.
An Oreck vacuum and framed art are up for grabs in Placentia. Another shop is selling the neon Blockbuster Open sign. Display tables, filing cabinets, price point holders, scanners, spinner racks, jackpot wheels, fire extinguishers and wet floor signs are a few more signature store necessities now up for grabs.
Of course, thousands of DVDs, some of which are new releases like Monsters University are for sale at discounted prices. Will you miss having a local Blockbuster close by? What was the last DVD you rented from them?
