It's been accumulating for a decade. He made a payment arrangement and has been paying as agreed with the companies, but they are now demanding PIF or a judgment. There are no assets to seize. The first attorney he contacted required a 2K upfront payment for services. This does not sound reasonable to me. What is a reasonable fee? Is this something you can do yourself or with a free/cheap LegalAid organization? Thanks for any input!
p.s- I understand that acquiring 15K in unsecured debt is neither responsible nor reasonable, so I would appreciate if the responders would limit themselves to useful information! -
