On the weeks I have to pay rent I am usually cutting it close by a couple of dollars. Well I was short in the checking account by a couple bucks but didn't see it because I made a mistake. Therefore that check bounced and appx twenty three checks before that because of the overdraft fees. I don't check my mail but once a month to just get the bills. I see this letter telling me I owe the bank 1000 some ot dollars. The letter is from an attorney so. It also says I have 17 days to pay this amount, but that is all no court date no repercussions just a date it has to be paid by. My question is am I looking at jail time? If so how much? Also can I file bankruptcy to keep that from happening? Will they let me make payments to them? I'm kinda nervous and not sure what to do. -
