Three people were arrested after more than 200kg of crystal methamphetamine were seized inside the tyres of a truck in Australia.

The operation was conducted by a joint task-force in the cities Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, BBC reported.

The medium-sized truck carrying the crystal methamphetamine arrived in Brisbane with a shipment from Shanghai, China, and then travelled to Melbourne and Brooklyn, a town to the north of Sydney.

The truck containing the shipment was first identified by Customs on September 13 in Brisbane.

After the drugs were delivered to a factory in Brooklyn, Australian police arrested three people involved in the smuggling in Melbourne.
Altona Meadows man Patrick Cini, 59, and his 29-year-old son Rhys, from Point Cook, were remanded in custody after facing Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
According to The Australian, "They were charged with importing and attempting to possess a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.
"Point Cook man Rami Tawachi, 25, was also remanded on a charge of attempting to possess a commercial quantity of methamphetamine."
Australian authorities also seized $80,000 in cash, mobile phones and hard drives in the operation.

An official from the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service said there was nothing unusual about the truck, but the concealed drugs showed up on X-ray, the BBC reported.

Two of the three men arrested were dock workers.

Today's bust comes after Australian police made one of the largest seizures of the drug ephedrine last month. The drug was hidden in a shipment from India to Melbourne.
