Mika Takami, the 34-year-old victim, was reported missing since this September. The 34-year-old suspect, Yuta Mimori, works at Kamoto branch of Japan Agricultural Cooperatives in Kumamoto Prefecture.
He was arrested for stealing the victim's purse and its cash contents last Thursday. He confessed that he killed the woman at a local community center nearby and dumped the body in the dam.
On Monday, the police found the corpse at the bottom of the dam that was up to 50 meters in depth. The killer claimed that he had been friends with the victim and they were disputing over financial issues. The police is still investigating motivations for the murder.
