You never know where you may stumble upon a big pile of cash.
In a heartwarming report, a couple in New Haven, Connecticut, who found a large amount of cash decided to return the money to the original owner.
Rabbi Noah Muroff and his wife recently purchased a desk off Craigslist for under $200.. After the pair paid for it and brought the desk home, they realized it was a little too large and wouldn’t fit through their door.
The Muroffs took the desk apart and that’s when they made the shocking discovery. When they pulled the file cabinets out, the couple saw a plastic bag. A $100 bill could be spotted behind the semi transparent plastic.
They probed further and came to the shocking conclusion that the bag was chock-full of cash. They counted the money which totaled $98,000.
The Muroffs instantly knew keeping the cash was out of the question. They quickly grabbed the phone and alerted the Craigslist seller of the discovery.
The original owner of the desk, named Patty had reportedly stashed an inheritance in the desk and subsequently forgot where she put it all. The Rabbi said he hopes the kind act will spread “the message of honesty and integrity”.
