Typhoon Haiyan, the world’s strongest storm this year, made landfall in central Philippines on Friday, November 8, lashing the city of Tacloban in the Leyte province with strong wind and rain. Haiyan, locally known as Yolanda, had built up winds of 134mph and gusts of 155mph before smashing the Philippines’ central islands.
