Digimon Racing review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Digimon Racing for the Game Boy Advance developed by Griptonite Games and published by Namco Bandai. The classic Mario Kart formula “digivolves” on the Game Boy Advance! Digimon Racing combines familiar go-kart gameplay with the popular Digimon anime franchise. Players choose from nine Digimon racers, from Agunimon to Tentomon, and take to 2D racing courses similar to those in the original Super Mario Kart. The game is relatively short on total tracks, but its unique cup system certainly extends the replay value. Because each cup groups tracks based on shared characteristics, some may repeat and be used in multiple cups. A snowy mountain, for example, might be used in an icy cup as well as a mountain cup. Digimon Racing also features the use of items and weapons, as you’d expect from a Mario Kart clone. Perhaps the game’s most unique element, however, is how it incorporates the evolution of the Digimon into the racing. Players can evolve their characters as the race progresses to become more powerful. Digimon Racing offers single and local multiplayer. This video review features video gameplay footage of Digimon Racing for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
