(LYRICS AND TRANSLATION) " Step out of the shroud, take a few chances with your relationships, let life unfold all its offerings, embrace them with an open heart, and let experience rather than books be your mentor in separating the real from the unreal”.
A beautiful inspiring message by Nida Fazli, and through emotional voice of Jagjit Singh... I have tried to give this marvellous poetry a pictorial video to convey the underlying message. I hope you will like it.
Jagjit ji's style and melody was a departure from the prevalent style of ghazal rendition, which was heavily based on classical and semi-classical Indian music. Compared to his earlier ghazals (sung during 70s and 80s) his later ghazals have acquired a more soulful and poignant demeanour. Jagjit Singh is accredited with bringing the ghazal genre, which was previously restricted to the elite classes, to the masses.
Nida Fazli was born in Delhi, India in1938 and attended school in Gwalior. His father was an Urdu poet. During the Partition of India his parents migrated to Pakistan, but Fazli decided to stay in India.
Nida Fazli's ghazals are sung by notable artists of the day. He teamed up with Jagjit Singh in 1994 to bring an album named INSIGHT, which got appreciation for its soulful poetry and music. He wrote famous ghazal for movie Sarfarosh sung by Jagjit Singh: Hosh Waalon ko
