Pro-Mursi demonstrations after Egypt's Friday prayers

Muslim Brotherhood supporters stage protests around Egypt in support of overthrown President Mohamed Mursi, ahead of his trial on Monday.

The charges against Mursi relate to the deaths of about a dozen people last December, when clashes erupted outside the presidential palace.

While protesting in Cairo, this Mursi supporter says the trial is illegitimate.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MURSI SUPPORTER OMRAN ABDEL HAMID, SAYING:

"This trial is void because the military coup is void and has no legitimacy. This should never ever happen, not even over our dead bodies. We will never accept a traitor [referring to General Sisi] and his accomplices to rule Egypt."

Another Mursi supporter says General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi .... the army chief who removed Mursi from power ... should be the one standing trial.
