U.S. Health Secretary apologizes for healthcare website debacle

Taking the oath, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is on the hot seat.

She appeared on Capitol Hill before a House Committee Wednesday to testify about the rocky rollout of the government's healthcare website.

SOUNDBITE: U.S. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY KATHLEEN SEBELIUS, SAYING:

"I am as frustrated and angry as anyone with the flawed launch of healthcare.gov. So let me say directly to these Americans, you deserve better. I apologize, I'm accountable to you for fixing these problems."

Numerous problems have plagued the website since it launched on October 1st.

The ongoing issues prompting Republican lawmakers to call for Sebelius' resignation.

At times, the hearing got heated.

Sebelius said contractors building the site never recommended the launch be delayed.

The White House maintains the problems will be fixed by the end of November.
