A dog named Shrek is finally learning what love and support from humans can do to a canine soul.
Nothing warms a heart like rescuing a dog that has gone through hardships.
A dog named Shrek is finally learning what love and support from humans can do to a canine soul. He was recently discovered abandoned in some woodland located in Ontario. Shrek was taken to the nearby Park Road Veterinary Clinic.
At first, he had quite a bit of trouble just walking around due to a severe pain in his legs. His fur was heavily-matted, covered in dried mud, leaving his facial features hidden under the mass. The locals who found him claimed he resembled more of a swamp creature than a dog.
The layers of fur were so thick and heavy that they essentially caked together on both sides of his legs, making it extremely difficult for Shrek to get around. Veterinarians treated the pooch under anesthetic and removed over three pounds of fur.
Staff members at the clinic believe he was kept in a cage and left to live under atrocious conditions prior to his abandonment.
